two
schools . Flemings was also not certain what Summer camps he would be attending

Leger told me he was expecting Grant Fleming to have a great season. Coach
Leger also spoke highly of quarterback Mikey
Mahtook
(6'3", 200) who will be a junior next season at STM. Coach Leger said
that Mahtook has all the tools to be a very special player before leaving STM
and
will be very highly recruitied. I saw Mahtook play two times last season and
he is the real deal. Coach Leger also had good things to say about Lance Kelley
(6’2”, 185, WR/DB/ATH) who will be a senior in 2006.

I spoke to Pease's
teammate Jace
Prescott (OL, 6'7", 420 , 5.6)
who is No. 34
on my top prospect
list. His 5.6 time in the forty is not bad for
a person his
size. The
giant offensive
tackle
told
me that he is receiving mail from Ole Miss, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas and
in-state schools.
Prescott did not know his GPA and said that he has not taken his ACT
yet. Prescott did tell me that he was making mostly Cs in the classroom.
Prescott
is very
mobile for a person his size and can dunk a basketball with both hands,
which is much
harder to do than a one-hand dunk. Haughton head football coach Rodney
Guin told me that the giant tackle would be highly recruited if he
could get his
weight
down 40 or 50 pounds and if he gets his academics in order. Prescott
has been invited to attend LSU's Junior Day on March 04.

football player. Pender told me that Lewis is receiving tons of mail
from all SEC
schools, especially LSU, Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss. Lewis has not
set any visits
yet, but is a huge fan of the SEC. Lewis is also a member of the Jonesboro-Hodge
basketball team

were an
issue and
that it is going to be very close.

4.5, Jonesboro High
School
I also spoke to Coach Pender about
Gabriel Bryant
(6'2", 190, 4.5) who has
already committed to LSU. Pender said that Bryant is a great athlete
who could play
several positions, but will play wide receiver
in college. Bryant reminds
Coach Pender of Marty Booker who Pender coached in high school and
is still playing
in the NFL. Pender also told me of another prospect
on his team named Anthony
Leonard (6'2", 205, FB/LB, 4.5). Leonard is a first cousin of
LSU signee Charles Scott, according to the coach. Pender said that
Leonard
is very physical
and should be on my top prospect list.
Toddrick Bajoie
WR, 6'3", 205, 4.5, Catholic of Point
Coupee
Later I spoke to Coach
Neil Weiner and a couple of his assistant coaches at Catholic of
Point Coupee

three more touchdowns
on special teams last season. Bajoie told me that he was being recruited
by LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Indiana, Ogeron, and several
other major schools. I asked what schools he would like to visit
and his
reply was
LSU and a few
far away schools such as USC. I asked Bajoie about his GPA and
was told that he has
been instructed not to give out his GPA. Bajoie told me that he
recentley took the ACT for the first time and that he feels like
he did well
on the test.

Jefferson High
School
I spoke to Coach Henry Rando of

235, 4.8). Coach Rando told me that Haynes is being recruited
by LSU, Ole Miss,
Miami, Auburn, Notre Dame and Florida, and has been offered by
Ole Miss and is very
close to receiving a couple more offers. According to Coach Rando,
Haynes has a 2.7 GPA and made a 16 on his ACT the only time he
has taken the
test. Rando
told me that Haynes is better at this stage of his career than
Roland Barbay was when he played at Holy Cross. He went on to
say that Barbay
was one of
his all-time favorite players at LSU and he believes that Haynes
can bejust as good
or better. Haynes has been invited, and will attend, Junior Day
at LSU March 04. The next time I update my top prospect list
Harvey Haynes
will
be in
my top 25.

(6'2",
275, 4.8) for Thursday afternoon. Thursday I first spoke to Coach
Craig Zeringue, the defensive coordinator at Lutcher high school,
who is
very high on Rolando
and had great things to say about his work habits. Zeringue told
me that Melancon started the last two games of the season when
he was
in the
eighth grade and
became a full time starter as a freshman and made first team
All-State. Melancon missed the entire year as a sophomore with
a leg injury
but returned to make
All-State his Junior season at Lutcher high school. Coach Zeringue
told me that Melancon grew up as a Miami fan and that Warren
Sapp, who played at Miami, has always been his hero.
Zeringue
told me that
Melancon
reminds him of Chad Lavalais who played at LSU from 2000-03 and
made All-SEC in 2002-03 and All-American in 2003 and is currently
playing
for the Atlanta
Falcons. Coach Zeringue told me that most of the major schools
in the nation are recruiting Melancon including USC, Texas, Miami,
Michigan,
FSU and
Ole Miss. Ole Miss has already offered Melancon. Melancon will
likely visit LSU,
Miami,
Michigan, Ole Miss and FSU. Jenkins told me that Melancon has
300 career
tackles, with 70 of the tackles being behind the line of scrimmage,
and 18 sacks. Melancon
has a 2.1 GPA and will take the ACT in April.

are very impressive. Francois had 67 solo tackles, 74 assists,

at this time and has been timed at 10.8 in the 100 meters and
21.9 in the 200 meters.
I wanted to talk
to Rudi Jabour
who is East ST John's all-purpose kicker, but
he was at soccer practice. Coach Dauterive told
me he believes
Jabour is one
of the best high school all-purpose kickers in the nation.
Jabour made 40 of 42 PATs and eight of nine FGs attempted with
the longest
being
56 yards.
Dauterive
said that 97 percent of Jabour's kicks went into the end zone
for touchbacks. Dauterive said that college coaches from all
parts of
the nation are
showing strong interest in his prized, all-purpose kicker.

of Louisiana next season.
Shaw high school only played six games last season because
of hurricane Katrina. Borne averaged 160.9 yards per game

yards per
carry. He rushed for
a total of 1,066 yards and eight touchdowns during the short

that Daniel Borne
is the
real deal.

D’Montrell Wilson
OL,
6'4",
300, 4.91, Rayville
High School
Wednesday
afternoon I spoke
to Coach Bo Barton of Rayville high school about
his outstanding offensive lineman prospect D’Montrell
Wilson who is 6'4",
300, 4.91. Coach Barton told me that Wilson's GPA
is 2.5 and that he took the
ACT for the
first time two weeks
ago. Wilson has already received scholarship offers
from Oklahoma, Auburn and Ole Miss. According to
Coach Barton,
Wilson is very
high on LSU's
recruiting list. Coach Barton said he would not be
surprised if LSU offered Wilson at
Junior Day on March 04 or a few days after. Wilson
has long arms, great feet and will
likely play offensive left tackle in college. Barton
said that Wilson has a
good motor and is a hard worker. Judging from the
early offers Wilson has already received, I would
have to
say that Wilson
and Alex Williams
are the
two best
offensive linemen prospects in the state and in the
South. After talking to Coach Barton, I realized
that Wilson is the most underrated player that I
have on my top prospect
list
and I will
be moving Barton
from No. 43 to my top 10-15 within the next week.
John Williams

of the top athletes in the state and will be a national
recruit. He was MVP in district and first team All-State
in 2005.
Williams is a
first
cousin
to former
LSU running back Domanick Davis who is currently
playing for Houston, Texas. Williams told me that
he is being
recruited by LSU, Oklahoma,
Alabama, Michigan
and Ole Miss plus several other 1-A schools. Williams
was not
certain what schools he would take official visits
to, but did say that
LSU and Ole Miss
would be
two of the schools. Williams said his goal in 2006
was to win state. Williams plays on both sides of
the football
and
would
like to
play both offense and
defense in college. On offense in 2005, Williams
rushed for 900 yards and passed for

he has a 2.5 GPA.
He will
be taking his ACT
in April. The
giant offensive lineman told me that he was receiving
mail from several schools but
mostly Boston College, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss,

visits to
five of the
above schools
if he
is invited.
Last February at around this time, I spoke to Coach
Don Jones (who was the head coach at Plaquemine and
is now
the head
coach at Woodlawn
of
Baton Rouge)
about
Michael Green's potential. Jones told me that Green
has a chance to be a great offensive lineman at the
next level
if he would
work hard
and
it appears
that
Green has been working hard because when I spoke
to
Coach Jones, Green was weighing close to 350 but
he is now down
to 300.
Matt Stone
OT, 6'4", 310, Ruston High School
After talking to Michael Green,

side of the ball and he expects Laird to be one of
the better
left
tackles in the state
next season.
Stone is hearing from Ole Miss, LSU, other SEC schools
and in-state schools. Stone will be attending Junior

that Michigan State is his number one choice at this
time. Plouhar and his family were hit hard by hurricane
Katrina last Fall, forcing his family to relocate
in Oregon.
Kyle Plouhar
arrived at
his new school
after school had started, but being the great athlete
that he is, he did not have
a problem fitting in and made the Tri Valley League
team. I asked Plouhar to explain
the difference in the style of play of Louisiana
high school football compared to Oregon football
and he said
that Louisiana
high school
football was
much more physical in the trenches.

Kendrick Celestine
ATH, 6'0", 190, 4.46, Mamou High School
Last night (Monday, April 03),
I spoke to
Kendrick Celestine (ATH, 6'0",
190, 4.46)
from Mamou high school. Celestine's name is not
popular in recruiting circles at this
time because
he plays quarterback at Mamou high school, but
he is being recruited to play wide
receiver or
cornerback in college. Celestine told me that
he has a 2.7 GPA and will be taking the
ACT this Saturday.
Celestine is being recruited by Notre Dame, LSU,
Auburn, Arkansas, Florida,
Miami, and
Ole Miss, and has been offered by Auburn to play
wide receiver and to return kicks. Celestine
believes that
he is very close to receiving other offers very
soon. As a junior, Celestine passed
for 815 yards
and rushed for 612 yards. Celestine played wide
receiver the last game of the 2005
season at Mamou
and caught two passes including a 64-yard touchdown
pass. The speedster said he
will be attending
Summer camp at LSU and at this time LSU is the
only school that he is certain
he will visit
next fall on an official visit. Coach Brad Peveto
is recruiting Celestine for
LSU.
Sam Proctor
QB, 6'2", 205,
4.48, Pearland,
Texas
I called quarterback Sam Proctor
from Pearland, Texas, to see how he enjoyed his
visit to LSU Saturday for the Spring game. Proctor
was not available to take my call, but I did speak
to his Mom who is staying on top of recruiting
for her son. Sam Proctor is 6'2", 205, runs
a 4.48 forty, has a 2.9 GPA, and made a 1270 on
the SAT . Sam's mom told me that the visit to
LSU was great and that LSU offered Sam two weeks
ago and at that time invited him down for the
Spring game. Proctor has also received scholarship
offers from The University of Houston and The
University of Kansas. Proctor attended Junior
day at Texas and attended Miami's Spring game.
Proctor is expecting several more scholarship
offers this Spring and is being recruited very
hard by The University of Florida, The University
of Virginia, Texas Tech, Michigan and Notre Dame.
Proctor rushed for 15 touchdowns last season and
had over 1,600 yards passing and rushing.
Chad Jones
SS, 6'2", 210, 4.5, Southern Lab
Last night (Tuesday, April 04), I interviewed Chad Jones who I have rated No. 3 on my top prospect list. Chad Jones is the brother of Alfred Jones who is a redshirt freshman at LSU. Jones told me that he is 6’2”, 221, and runs a 4.51 forty. Jones plays safety and is one of the premier safety prospects in the nation. Jones has a 2.5 GPA and made a 24 on his ACT. He told me that he is hearing from top programs nation wide including LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, TCU, Auburn, Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Florida. Jones told me that he has already received scholarship offers from LSU, Oregon, Miami, Ole Miss and a few more. I asked Jones if he had a leader at this time and he said Miami and LSU, not in any patericular order. Last season as a junior, Jones made first team All-State. He had 72 tackles and two pass interceptions on the season. I told Chad that I thought his brother Al had a great scrimmage and he told me that Alfred is very happy playing defensive end instead of linebacker at LSU.
Edward Collins
OL, 6'5", 280, Northeast high school
Friday I conducted a very enjoyable and interesting interview with Northeast high school head football coach David Masterson and his Blue Chip offensive lineman Edward Collins (6'5", 288, and still growing). Collins is only 16 years old and will not be 17 until the 2006 regular football season is over. Collins has been a starter at weak side offensive tackle since his sophomore year at Northeast. Masterson told me that Collins was a true weak side offensive tackle and said that weak side offensive tackles and free safeties are the two hardest positions for college coaches to find. Masterson is a veteran coach who has coached at the college level and has been very successful at Northeast high school which plays in class 3-A. Northeast is located at Pride, Louisiana, about 30 miles North of Baton Rouge. I asked Coach Masterson what schools are recruiting his prize offensive tackle and he said you name the school and they are recruiting him. Masterson said just before I talked to him yesterday that he had just gotten off the phone with two major college coaches asking for highlight tapes. Masterson told me that Jimbo Fisher is recruiting Collins for LSU and is looking forward to having Collins down for Summer camp. Masterson said that Collins' grades would be very close, but that he believe he will have the grades to sign with a four-year school.
Collins told me that he attended Junior Day at LSU and attended the Spring game and picnic for all the recruits and had a great time. I asked Collins to name a few schools that are recruiting him the hardest and he named LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and Alabama. I asked what schools he would like to take official visit to and he said LSU, Auburn and Texas and said that he is a strong lean to LSU. Collins said his plans are to attend Summer camp at LSU and the lineman camp at Nicholls State that is one of the best linemen camp in the nation. Former LSU defensive line coach Pete Jenkins is one of the instructors at the Nicholls camp each year.
Kellen Theriot
QB, 6'1", 224, 4.5, Houston
While at the LSU Spring game I ran into a young man named Dean Theriot who play baseball in the Lafayette Little League years ago with my son, Scott. Dean now lives in Houston and attended the Spring game with his Dad and his son Kellen. Kellen is a 6'1-1/2", 224, QB who runs a 4.5 forty. Kellen was the starting QB at Acadiana High School in Lafayette at the start of the 2006 season before he tore his ACL in the jamboree and missed his entire junior season. He has moved to Houston to live with his Dad because he will be able to repeat his junior year next season in Texas, therefore allowing him to have two more years to play instead of having to graduate next year if he remained at Acadiana High School. Kellen is now attending Episcopal High School in Houston. Kellen attended Summer camp at LSU before his injury and was timed in the 40 at 4.5, vertical jumped 34 1/2 inches, bench pressed 325 pounds and power cleaned 290 before his injury. Kellen is about 95 percent in most aspects of his recovery at this time. His top five schools as of now are: LSU, Miami, Texas, Notre Dame, and either Michigan or Florida. He has attended camp at LSU and this year plans to attend camps at LSU, Miami, and Texas or Notre Dame. I know that the Acadiana coaching staff was very excited about Kellen before his injury because of his size, speed and arm strength. Kellen Theriot is a name to remember for the 2008 signing class.
Kendrick Celestine
ATH, 6'0", 190, 4.46, Mamou High School
Last night (Monday, April 03), I spoke to Kendrick Celestine (ATH, 6'0", 190, 4.46) from Mamou high school. Celestine's name is not popular in recruiting circles at this time because he plays quarterback at Mamou high school, but he is being recruited to play wide receiver or cornerback in college. Celestine believes that he is very close to receiving other offers very soon. As a junior, Celestine passed for 815 yards and rushed for 612 yards. Celestine played wide receiver the last game of the 2005 season at Mamou and caught two passes including a 64-yard touchdown pass. The speedster said he will be attending Summer camp at LSU and at this time LSU is the only school that he is certain he will visit next fall on an official visit. Coach Brad Peveto is recruiting Celestine for LSU.
Josh Dworaczyk
DE, 6'6", 265, 4.9 Catholic of New Iberia
I spoke to Josh Dworaczyk (DE, 6'6", 265, 4.9) from Catholic high school of New Iberia. Dworaczyk told me that he has a 3.54 GPA and recentley received word that he made a 25 on the ACT he took for the first time about six weeks ago. Dworaczyk is receiving mail from LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson, Arkansas, Tennessee, GA Tech, Kansas State, Alabama and all state schools. He told me that he will be attending the Nike Camp at LSU at the end of this month as well as Summer camps at LSU and Notre Dame. Dworaczyk ! attended Junior at LSU on March 04 with his teammate Mitch Joseph, and spent a lot of time with LSU recruiting coordinator Josh Henson and defensive backfield coach Doug Mallory. According to Dworaczyk, both coaches emphasized that they really wanted him to attend one of LSU's Summer camps.
Dworaczyk told me that he made between 75-80 tackles as a junior with seven sacks behind the line of scrimmage, four knockdowns, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Dworaczyk went through elementary school with LSU signee Jared Mitchell. I did not know about Josh Dworaczyk until I called his high schoo! l coach David Comeaux to ask about Mitch Joseph. I have JD No. 68 on my top 100 list, but I know that there are not 67 better players in the state. I will be moving JD up several spots before the end of this school year.
