Dandy Don’s Top Football Prospects in Louisiana - Class of 2011
| 1. | La’el Collins (OL) 6'4", 275, 4.8, Redemptorist of Baton Rouge. Collins is a great blocker, both in run and pass plays, and has great foot speed. Collins has the frame to add 20-25 pounds to his body and keep his foot speed. Collins might very well be the top high school offensive lineman in the nation in 2010. Collins is comitted to play at LSU and I expect him to start at left tackle as a freshman. LSU Commitment. |
| 2. | Anthony Johnson (DT) 6'4", 312, O.P. Walker. Johnson might be the most physical defensive lineman to come from the state of Louisiana in the last twenty years. Johnson is very strong and almost impossible to block one on one. Johnson is also comitted to LSU and I also expect him to start as a true freshman. LSU Commitment. |
| 3. | Jermauria Rasco (DE) 6'4", 260, Evangel. Rasco is a three-time class 2-A All-State player who is very strong and loves to play the game. He has offers from major college teams nationwide. Rasco has not named a leader, but I believe he will decide between LSU and Texas. |
| 4. | Kenny Hilliard (RB) 6'0", 220, Patterson. Hilliard is a three-time class 3-A All-State player who is a very physical downhill runner. He is at his best in fourth quarters of games. Hilliard has scholarship offers from all the top ranked teams in the nation. LSU Commitment. |
| 5. | Jarvis Landry (WR) 6'0", 200, 4.4, Lutcher. Landry will be one of the most highly recruited wide recievers in the nation in 2010 and is already comitted to LSU. LSU Commitment. |
| 6. | Greg Robinson (OL) 6'6", 290, 5.0, Thibodaux. Robinson has great balance and footwork and is a national recruit. He is a strong lean to LSU. |
| 7. | Terrance Magee (RB) 5'10", 200, 4.45, Franklinton. Magee is a very physical running back and is in the same mold as former LSU running back Kevin Faulk. LSU Commitment. |
| 8. | Jeremy Hill (RB) 6'1", 220, 4.5, Redemptorist. Hill is a very physical downhill runner and will be a very reliable short yardage back at LSU. LSU Commitment. |
| 9. | Alonzo Lewis (WR) 6'3", 200, 4.5, ST James. Lewis has good height and a great vertical leap. LSU Commitment. |
| 10. | Chuck Hunter (DT) 6'1", 280, West Monroe. Hunter plays full-speed at all times and is very similar to LSU freshman defensive tackle Josh Downs from Bastrop. It seem as if West Monroe has at least one major college defensive lineman each year. Hunter will be highly recruited and is a lean to LSU. |
| 11. | Bradley Sylve (WR) 6'0", 180, 4.4, South Plaquemines. Sylve is a three-year All-State player. The only knock on Sylve is that he played class 1-A football and has not gone up against a lot of great defensive backs. |
| 12. | Quintin Thomas (DE) 6'2", 270, Breaux Bridge. Thomas is built very similarly to Chucky Hunter, loves to play the game and will be very highly recruited. He is also a strong lean to LSU. LSU Commitment. |
| 13. | Zach Oliver (QB), 6'4", 190, Catholic of Baton Rouge. Oliver is very smart, very coachable and will make some school an outstanding quarterback. |
| 14. | Corey White (OL) 6'4", 300, Capital. White is big and strong and is a great blocker. I think he will likely play offensive guard in college based on seeing him play two times in high school. White is an early commitment to LSU. LSU Commitment. |
| 15. | Ryan Byrd (WR) 6'2", 180, 4.5, ST Helena. Byrd has big hands, a great vertical leap and is very strong. |
| 16. | Javante Watson (CB) 6'0", 180, 4.45, Bastrop. Coach Bradshaw from Bastrop told me that Watson has great cover skills and a is sure tackler. |
| 17. | |
Odell Beckham, Jr. (ATH) 5'11", 180, 4.4, Newman. Beckman will likely play wide receiver in college but could play running back or cornerback. Beckman's father played at LSU from 1990-92. |
|
| 18. | Chet Hebert (OL) 6'3", 298, Shaw. I saw Hebert play two times in 2009 and he is big-time. |
| 19. | Devin Boutte (ATH) 5'9", 175, 4.4, Catholic of New Iberia. Boutte is as tough as nails and is a great pass receiver and the best punt and kick return player in the state, in my opinion. |
| 20. | Mickey Johnson (DT) 6'1", 307, St. Paul. A great pass rusher and very quick for his size. Johnson is going to be very highly recruited.
Timothy Johnson (LB), 6'2", 235, Karr. Aggressive and very fast. |
| 21. | Johnny Banks (TE) 6’4”, 240, 4.6, Christian Life. Banks has all the tools to be an outstanding tight end as a blocker and pass receiver. |
| 22. | Renaldo Thomas (S) 6'4", 210, St. Augustine. |
| 23. | |
Paul Turner (ATH/QB) 5'11", 190, West Monroe. Played QB on state championship highschool team but will likely play WR or CB in college. |
|
| 24. | Trai Turner (OL) 6'5", 340, ST Augustine. |
| 25. | Stevie Douglas (QB) 6'4", 190, Clinton. |
| 26. | Jonah Austin (OL) 6'5", 340, ST Aug. Good feet and very strong. |
| 27. | Vondrey Vallere (LB), 6'2", 220, 4.55. Eunice. |
| 28. | Hunter Leppert (QB) 6'2", 210, Minden. Big, strong with good foot speed and a very strong arm. |
| 29. | |
Seth Jones (LB) 6'2", 220, John Curtis. |
|
| 30. | Rod Davis (WR) 6'2", 185, Many. Davis has great leaping ability and will also be highly recruited in basketball. |
| 31. | Dak Prescott (QB/ATH) 6'3", 220, Haughton |
| 32. | Brian Ensminger (QB) 6’2”, 195, Hahnville |
| 33. | T. K. Flemings (S) 6'3", 190, Benton |
