Dandy Don’s
Top Prospects in Louisiana
Class of 2005

Updated 01/19/05

1. Ryan Perrilloux (QB, 6'2", 220) from East ST John. Perrilloux reminds college scouts of LSU redshirt freshman quarterback JaMarcuss Russell. His arm strength is comparable to Russell's, but Perrilloux has better foot speed and is a better runner. It appears to be a battle between LSU and Texas for Perrilloux's signature.

2. Lucas Taylor (ATH/QB, 6'1", 190, 4.4) from Carencro. Taylor reminds me of Skyler Green with his speed, quickness and balance. I believe Taylor will play wide receiver in college, but he could play quarterback at a school like Nebraska who's offense features running quarterbacks. Tennessee commitment.

3. Antonio Robinson (RB, 6'1", 210, 4.5) from Winnfield. Robinson is big, strong and fast. He reminds me of Anthony Thomas who played at Winnfield several years ago and has had a great pro career with the Chicago Bears. LSU commitment.

4. Alfred Jones (DT, 6'3", 260), ST Augustine. Jones is quick as a cat and very strong. LSU commitment.

5. Gary Riggs (DB, 6'3", 205), Jennings. Riggs plays quarterback at Jennings high school but will play in the defensive backfield in college. He is a big-time player. Ole Miss commitment.

6. Chris Hawkins (CB, 6'0", 180) Walker. Hawkins plays running back at Walker high school, but will likely play safety at LSU. LSU commitment.

7. Nick Harris (SS, 6'3", 200), Alexandria. Harris has great speed and is very aggressive. He might grow into a linebacker in college. Oklahoma commitment.

8. Lyle Hitt (FB/DE, 6'3", 260), Parkview Baptist. Hitt has exceptional speed and is very tough. He is projected to play DE in college, but would make a great fullback. LSU commitment.

9. Steven Korte (FB/LB, 6'2", 232) Fontainebleau. Korte is a very versatile player who loves to play the game. LSU commitment.

10. Chris Keyes (ATH, 6'2", 205), Port Barre. Keyes plays quarterback and linebacker at Port Barre but will probably play strong safety in college. Alabama commitment.

11. Larry Shappley (OL, 6'5", 275), West Monroe. Shappley was the most dominating offensive lineman in district 2-5A as a junior and will be the best offensive lineman in North Louisiana in 2004. Shappley has great work habits. UL-M commitment.

12. Matt Slocum (DE, 6'5", 240), West Monroe. Slocum might still grow a few more inches if he takes after his older brother who is 6'10" and played basketball at Texas A&M. Tulane commitment.

13. Glen Gibson (OL, 6'7", 305), Haugton. Gibson has great balance and good foot speed for a player his size. He has great potential and a great future. ULM commitment.

14. Darry Beckwith (LB, 6'1", 215), Parkview. Beckwith is a very aggressive player who loves to play the game. LSU commitment.

15. Zach Schreiber (6'3", 225, DE), Evangel. Schreiber has been starting at Evangel since he was a freshman and was the leader of the Evangel defense the last two years. I may have Schreiber rated a few spots lower than he should be because of his size. I believe he will be one of the most highly recruited players in the state. Alabama commitment.

15. (tie) Pat Trahan (SS, 6'2", 195), ST Augustine. Trahan is a very physical player with great speed. Auburn commitment.

16. Bradley Guillory (OL, 6'5", 290), Carencro. Bradley Guillory was the second most dominating offensive lineman in district 3-5A last season behind only Ryan Miller of Barbe high school who will sign with LSU in February 05. One assistant coach at Carencro told me that Bradley is a great player and person, and is a hard worker. LA Tech commitment.

17. Clifford Harris (ATH, 5'10", 195), Higgins. Harris plays quarterback at Higgins but will play running back or defensive back in college. Harris has moves similar to Skyler Green.

18. Tyrell Fenroy (RB, 5'11", 180), ST Charles. Fenroy is a player that I might move up before the start of the 2005 school year. He is probably the top punt and kick return player in the state.

19. Rogers Loche (LB, 6'1", 210, 4.5), Bastrop. Loche is a very aggressive player who loves to play the game. Ole Miss commitment.

20. Thad Waters (DL, 6'3", 280), Ruston. Waters had a solid junior season, but should have an outstanding senior season. He is very similar to Kyle Williams who played his high school football at Ruston.

20. (tie) Alonzo Horton (LD/DE, 6'4", 225), Abramson, N.O. Horton has great quickness for a player his size and will probably play defensive end in college. Auburn commitment.

21. Seyvish Capers (TE, 6'5", 260), ST Augustine. Seyvish has good hands and good speed for his his size. West Virginia commitment.

22. Brian Babin (QB, 6'3", 190) from ST Amant. Babin is a very smart quarterback with a strong arm and good foot speed. He is also a great baseball prospect. SouthEastern commitment.

23. Sean Santos (QB, 5'11", 190), Holy Cross. Santos has a strong arm, is very smart and reads defenses very well. Northwestern State commitment.

24. Patrick Jackson (RB, 5'9", 185), West ST John. Jackson had a great senior season and is considered by many as the top running back in the state. He is also a 4.0 student. LA Tech.

25. Marcus Green (RB, 5'11", 175, 4.5), Bastrop. Green was MVP on the 2004 class 4-A All-State team and reminds me of another Green - Skyler Green of LSU, though the two players are not related. Ole Miss commitment.

25. (tie) Rashad Roussel (DT, 6'2", 260), Hahnville. Great toughness and foot speed.
